Back Forward

June 27, 2009 —October 11, 2009

Whether it’s football or rodeo, basketball or volleyball, or anything in between, athletics have played an important part in the Panhandle-Plains region. Panhandle Plains Players is the first of two exhibits planned to officially launch PPHM’s sports collection highlighting this region’s athletics. Expect to see items from Donny Anderson, Alex O’ Brien, Mike Scroggins, Joe Lombard and many more.

The exhibition examines high school, college and professional athletes from this region, and will be followed next year by an exhibit focusing on West Texas A&M University athletics to coincide with the university’s 100th anniversary.

Connection questions found in the exhibit:

What is the most watched sporting event in the world?

What is the average height of a roping horse?

Which golf player has won the most career titles?

What year did tennis become an Olympic sport?

What is a perfect bowling score?

How many children, on average, play sports for Kids Inc. during any given year?
