REMEMBERING THE ALAMO, 1836-2009
Back Forward

October 10, 2009—March 14, 2010

Items preserved or created for the purpose of “remembering the Alamo” give us valuable insight into how the Alamo story has evolved since the famous battle took place at San Antonio in 1836.  Alamo souvenirs, kitsch, art and artifacts pertaining to the battle and the building tell how a sublime Texas symbol has become a souvenir and marketing symbol.
