Clothing and Textile exhibits change regularly to feature genres from quilts to evening gowns to accessories. The Museum’s extensive Clothing & Textile collection reflects a period of over 125 years, with the largest part of the collection dating from the early- and mid-twentieth century. The collection numbers approximately 14,500 items and represents the social, cultural and economic history of this area.  Approximately 70% of the collection consists of women's clothing and accessories, 15% of men's clothing and 5% of children's and infants items.  The remaining 10% is comprised of household textiles, quilts, pillows, southwestern woven textiles, and other miscellaneous items.

The collection contains more than 175 quilts of varying significance and quality, including a reverse appliqué quilt made in 1809.  The clothing items in the collection tend to be more formal or special occasion items that represent significant financial investment or personal significance to the original owner.
