SHEEPDOGS AND BARBED WIRE: ECOLOGICAL REVOLUTION ON THE HIGH PLAINS
Hazlewood Lecture Hall
January 9 2:00-3:30 pm
Animals once walked to their food—migrating, distributing grazing area and adjusting to seasonal climate changes. But the large-scale implementation of barbed wire created a system in which, for the first time, food started moving toward the animals, and its implications are only now being realized.
Program presented by 2009-2010 Excellence in West Texas History Fellow, Daniel S. Kerr. Free with museum admission.
