The Archeology Department highlights spectacular rocks and minerals including large examples of petrified wood, meteorites, and obsidian acquired since opening.  In addition, it will explore the wondrous beauty and diversity of fossil and recent animal bones.  Visitors will see a metal arrowhead imbedded in a bison bone, the skull and jaws of an extremely large fossil bear-dog, and rare or unusual natural history specimens collected since the Museum opened.

Synthetic petrochemical-based fibers were introduced during the 1930s, forever altering the American clothing industry and the world of fashion.  Today, fibers such as nylon, polyester, acrylic and spandex are an integral part of our lives.  This exhibit will explore some of the changes that have occurred as a result of this revolution.
